Let’s Talk Self-Worth

A Note from Jane

You Are Enough, Exactly As You Are

Hi Lovely,
Welcome back to The Calm Nest. This week, we’re diving deep into the tender topic of self-worth. It’s something that can quietly take a hit during pregnancy and early motherhood — but here’s your reminder: you are doing more than enough, simply by being here.

I hear it all the time in class and in messages: "I feel like I'm not doing enough."

Whether you're growing a baby or rocking one to sleep at 3am, the sense of not measuring up can sneak in when you're vulnerable. But here's the truth: you are already enough.

Not because of what you ticked off your list. Not because of how you compare to others. Because you are you — loving, showing up, learning as you go.

Let’s wrap this week in self-compassion.

Pregnancy Corner: Trusting Your Body

It’s easy to feel like your body is being taken over during pregnancy. But even on the tough days, your body is doing something extraordinary.

This week’s mantra: "My body knows what to do."

Try sitting quietly with one hand on your heart or bump and repeat this phrase slowly.

Journaling prompts:

  • What would it feel like to trust your body more today?

  • In what small ways has your body supported you recently?

Let this be a gentle reconnection.

Mama & Me Moments: Stop the Comparison Spiral

It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparison when your feeds are full of tidy homes and smiling babies.

But those tiny squares don’t show the full picture.

This week, try:

  • Writing 3 things you DID today (yes, feeding and cuddling count!)

  • Sticking a note on your mirror: "I am enough. I am a good mum"

  • Unfollowing accounts that make you feel less than good or are very curated unrealistically perfecf

You are not behind. You are exactly where you need to be.

🧘‍♀️ Mini Yoga Moment: Heart Opener

Try this seated heart-opener to reconnect with yourself.

How to:

  • Sit on a cushion or chair

  • Interlace your fingers behind your back

  • Lift your heart gently and drop your shoulders

  • Inhale: "I am open."

  • Exhale: "I am enough."

Stay for 5 breaths. Let this be your reset.
