The Power of Breath

A Note from Jane

How simple breathing can reset your whole day

Hi Lovely,
If you’ve ever found yourself holding your breath without even realising it — you’re not alone. This week is all about the breath: your body’s built-in reset button. No equipment, no experience, just one inhale and one exhale at a time.

Pregnancy Corner: Morning Breathwork for Calm

Try this when you wake up, before you reach for your phone:

1. Sit up in bed, place your hands on your bump.
2. Inhale for 4 counts.
3. Hold for 4 counts.
4. Exhale slowly for 6 counts.
5. Repeat 3–5 times.

✨ This activates your calming system and connects you to your baby before the day begins.

Mama & Me Moments: Middle of the Night Reset

When you're up at night with baby, it’s easy to feel wired and weary.

Try this:
- Sit on the edge of the bed, feet flat
- Inhale deeply through your nose
- Exhale slowly while gently dropping your shoulders
- Whisper to yourself: *“I am okay. We are okay.”*

✨ These soft moments matter.

🧘‍♀️ Mini Yoga Moment: Box Breathing

Box breathing is a simple way to reduce stress and regain control in overwhelming moments.

1. Inhale for 4 counts
2. Hold for 4 counts
3. Exhale for 4 counts
4. Hold again for 4 counts

Repeat for 4 rounds while tracing a square in the air with your finger if it helps.

✨ Grounding, calming, and doable anywhere.
