Connection is Everything

A Note from Jane

Gentle ways to bond with your bump and baby

Hi lovely,

Connection doesn’t always look like magic moments and perfect cuddles. It’s in the small things — the belly rubs, the way you hum to your baby, the sleepy forehead kisses. This week is about honouring those quiet connections, and creating space for more of them — in whatever way feels right for you.

Pregnancy Corner: Bump Bonding Ritual

Run a warm bath (although in this heat ~I don’t know what I am thinking) so maybe just on the sofa with your feet in a bowl of cold water) light a candle, and gently rest your hands on your belly.

Speak to your baby, sing to your baby or if you feel a bit silly doing that just sit and breathe in and out connecting with them :)

✨ You’re already building your bond — no special technique required, just presence and don’t forget you are already a great mum!

Mama & Me Moments: Baby Massage & Eye Contact

Baby Massage is amazing for connecting with your baby right from newborn, If you want to start trying to do a bit of baby massage but arent sure what to do,

Try this simple baby massage technique: rub your hands together in front of them to start the association with baby massage, lettting them know something nice is about to happen and gently stroke your baby's chest in slow, outward circles using soft oil or lotion. (baby’s skin is naturally slightly oily so you don’t actually need anything its more a personal preference or if they have excema and need a cream)
✨ This builds connection through your touch, your voice, and your attention.

If you would like a freebie! Mini Baby massage for sleep I have a short 5 step baby massage thats great for introducing baby massage :)

🧘‍♀️ Mini Yoga Moment: Heart-to-Heart Rest

Mum & baby version:
Lie back with your baby on your chest, skin-to-skin or fully clothed, and rest your hands over their back.

Close your eyes. Breathe together. Feel their heartbeat.

✨ This is yoga too — connection, breath, and stillness. Stay here as long as you both need.

Pregnancy version:

Lie back with your hand resting on your heart and your bump

Close your eyes. Breathe and imagine your breath going through you and into them bringing life force to them as they rest in your tummy.

✨ This is yoga too — connection, breath, and stillness. Stay here as long as you both need.
